I was very excited to t do our photo shoot, and have not been disappointed! Leigh is a pleasure to deal with – polite, accommodating and really patient and gentle with the children.
We have a 3 year old girl who was SUPER excited to be going to the photographer, and to be able to dress up. And who promptly became quite shy when sitting in front of the camera! Leigh was great with her, as was Leigh’s daughter, and they got some really amazing shots. I also have an 18 month old boy who was quite reluctant to smile without me in the picture as well! But we got a few gorgeous ones and a perfect one of the two together.
Leigh was prompt with getting back to me when the images were ready, and when we ordered some through her website. Once the photos are processed, we had 21 days to view them online and to then narrow down to the ones we decided to have printed (so hard to choose!) It really helped, as my husband couldn’t make it to the viewing session.
The quality of the prints is fabulous and the price is pretty good too, especially considering the work that goes into the process, and Leigh’s experience.

Leigh (also a mum) was so patient, super patient…. In fact I was ready to leave as Jack my two and a half year old was so difficult. He just didn’t want to be in the same room. After considerable time, music, bubbles, a special treat we shot some really fabulous family photos. Leigh clearly knows how to work with toddlers and kids.

From first point of contact with Leigh I was more than impressed. Leigh is so professional, welcoming, thorough and friendly!! It was a pleasure to meet Leigh and see the studio upon our first consultation. Leigh took great effort and time to find out what sort of shoot we were looking for, in terms of clothing, props etc. I never felt pressured or compelled to comply with any standards. From the very first conversation with Leigh at The Latent Image Photography I knew that experience would be fantastic, and I wasn’t wrong! I couldn’t recommend The Latent Image Photography more highly!
Firstly Leigh set up a pre photo shoot consultation to discuss the type and feel of images I wanted captured for my 6 month old daughter at her home studio. The studio is everything you would expect it to be, clean, bright, warm and with a great ambiance. Leigh is extremely easy to speak with and I felt she really listened to me and understood the style of images I wanted to capture. Leigh had many suggestions and ideas on how to achieve the look, she showed me a selection of her huge range of props, outfits, head bands, textured wraps, backdrops, flooring options which she felt fitted my description, I agreed!
The day of the photoshoot was even better than I was expecting, Leigh’s energy, and passion for the shoot was second to none, and my daughter’s first two teeth had just cut through the previous day so she was a little bit grizzly, Leigh completely understood and managed to get her to smile! I didn’t feel rushed during the shoot, in fact, Leigh suggested rescheduling the remainder of the shoot to the following week when my daughter would be more comfortable, and so she could then have another opportunity to get some really great images for us.
Once the basic editing was done, Leigh invited me back to view the images and I was very impressed with the presentation. It was a comfortable and a relaxed atmosphere to view the great photos that had been captured. The images were unique, exactly the style and feel I wanted and of such a high quality professional standard. Leigh uses a great green, amber, red colour coding system which made choosing the images much easier, though it was tough cutting back!
The packages on offer are great value; you can chose from a variety of digital packages, or single images. There are also options to choose frames, canvas, and storyboards which are all organised by The Latent Image Photography!
Overall I found The Latent Image Photography experience to be brilliant; I have already highly recommended Leigh to my friends. I will be a repeat customer for family photos and certainly when we have baby number 2!

We have never had professional photo shoot before but we could not be happier with the whole experience. Leigh very warm, patient and professional. The shoot ended up taking a lot longer because so many wonderful ideas kept popping up. The whole time, I felt at ease and never rushed. We loved the photos and have every intention of coming back when bub’s one year old. Definitely happy to recommend the Latent Image for all your photography needs!
